Toddler Time @ Art Works Now
Open studio time for toddlers and their accompanying adults. Car Painting: Take our toy cars for a ride through paint and discover the fun paintings they create.

Storytime PopUp!  @ The Waterhole

Playground at University Hills Duck Pond Park 
Pack a picnic, check out the duck pond and then have fun at 1 of the 3 playgrounds at this park! There’s one right at the entrance off of Wells Blvd but if you wander a bit on the bike path you’ll find there’s an even bigger one just down to the right with structures for the toddler and 5-12 crew.

Xtreme Teens: G.E.A.R. Cookies!
Learn to bake fresh cookies from scratch!  These simple recipes will leave you wanting more!  Ages 10-17 years old.

Arts Drop-In: Kinetic Sculpture 
Arts Drop-In with Aaron Springer is a fun time for kids and parents to get creative with a variety of craft materials and an imaginative facilitator. Ages 2-10.

Indian Creek Playground
Any time this weekend, check out this really fun and creative playground designed after Berwyn Heights’ earliest residents – a group of Algonquian people known as Nacotchtank.  Kiddos will have  a blast climbing teepees, in an out of canoes and up and down dream catchers.  If you get hungry afterwards, check out

Anacostia Riverwalk Trail – Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens 
Head to Bladensburg Waterfront Park (BWP) and explore the new 4-mile segment of the Trail now connecting the District with BWP!  We packed lunches, parked at BWP and then walked the Trail all the way to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens.  It was lovely!  No traffic – just folks outside loving this new addition!  Grab a bit of respite at Kenilworth, maybe eat that lunch you packed and then head back to BWP, where the kids can play/climb/laugh in an old B & O caboose.

Kids’ Passport to Maryland History 
Travel through Maryland history with crafts and activities for school-aged children.  Fill up your “passport” to earn a Maryland Junior Historian certificate.

College Park Community Library 5th Annual Book Festival
Join the College Park Community Library and the College Park Lions Club for fun day including: Readings by local authors, storytime, crafts and face painting, bookmark contest (ages 4-11), meet over 30 local authors, free health screenings and more!

Laurel Library 

Take the kids for a drive and explore the newly renovated Laurel Library. The kids room is fantastic!  So many hands-on activities to keep them occupied – including a Smart Table and pretend play area – and enough computers/reading nooks for even older kiddos to have a place to themselves.
When: 1-5pm

Smaland at College Park’s Ikea

Free, 1 hour, supervised, enclosed, safe & clean play area near the entrance.  Enjoy some shopping or just relax/eat/peoplewatch at the restaurant upstairs while your young one(s) has a blast at Smaland.  Children must be potty trained and be 37” to 54” tall (so children typically b/w ages of 3-6).  Tips: (1) Best to arrive earlier on in the day as day progresses, so do the entrances lines; & (2) Join Ikea Family & kids get extra 30 minutes to play (depending on capacity) & you get free coffee!

Sunday Family Ice Skating!
For each adult admission, 2 kids get free admission.  Huge indoor ice skating rink with a warming hut and a snack bar – what else do you need?!

Cost: $5 + skate rental fees.

Paint Branch Parkway Park Playground
Get outside and check out this recently renovated playground, rivaling any great playground you’ve been to in DC, NYC or anywhere! Among other great things, its fireman’s pole use a fun hydraulic lift to boost kids (and adventurous adults…) up and down a log plank is a blast!

Community Sing 
Family-friendly community sing event led by local song leaders.  Please RSVP by Friday to so can know how many chairs to set up.  
When: 4-5pm
