Adults' Weekend Guide: April 12th-15th


Mount Rainier's Spring Greening Fair, Whole Foods Market & Riverdale Park Station celebrate their 1-year anniversary with a Carnival at Riverdale Park Station, Hyattsville's 132nd Anniversary with a festival, Fitness Fundraiser to benefit St. Matthew's Parish Day School & more, all in this edition of the Adults' Weekend Guide!

THURSDAY 

Carnival celebrating Hyattsville's 132nd year kicks off today! Carnival Amusements for the whole family!  Rides, games &. food concessions.  
When: 5-9pm
Where: Magruder Park, Hyattsville

Dance Dance Party Party!
Dance Dance Party Party is a women-only freestyle exercise dance session! Come in your exercise clothes. Burn anywhere from 200-400 calories Dance your heart out to an eclectic mix of music for an hour straight. Make new friends, leave refreshed!
When: 7-8pm

A pixie spirited flexitarian band of tree hugging, gothic, new age, folky, Steam Punks by way of Paris and New York.

Whole Foods Market - One Year Anniversary Spring Fair (Friday - Sunday)

Cabaret Noir

SATURDAY 

Fitness Fundraiser
Join the St. Matthew's Parish Day School PTO for an hour-long session (there's one at 930 and another starting at 1030) of Zumba dance with the always energetic and engaging Chantal Ross. When: 9:30am & 10:30am

Cost: $10 (all proceeds go to improvements at the day school)

Spring Greening Fair & Expo
The Mount Rainier Green Team will be hosting this fun event full of vendors with sustainable goods and information to put you in the know about green issues. Feature gardening, recycling, composting, beekeeping demonstrations, kids' activities, community garden plant and seed swap, demonstrations, workshops, crafts, food vendors and more!
When: 12-5pm

Spring Carnival
Come celebrate the one year anniversary of Whole Foods Market and Riverdale Park Station. Event will feature carnival games, live music, face painting, inflatables, a magic show, free refreshments, the Explore! Children’s Museum Bus, a petting zoo, a special appearance from 94.7 Fresh FM and tons of community partners, and so much more! The first 50 families in attendance will receive a swag bag.

Furniture Painting Techniques
Join for a fun demonstration of painting technique for furniture using our CeCe Caldwell Chalk and Clay Paint. Learn to prepare, paint and apply unique finishes such as dry brushing, antiquing, crackling and apply clear and metallic waxes. Call 301-937-6100 to reserve spot.

RIAMS Porch Fest 2018
Local porches and stoops are transformed into stages for an afternoon of music, dance, and poetry that brings together neighbors, business owners, and artists in a casual and fun display of creative expression!  Route One Fun reader Katie recommends you "stop at Eat and Smile Catering for a beer and a snack during the event!"

The Studio 3807 Route One Rampage
Cheer on the cyclists as they zoom by and you chat about how you're going to definitely do this race next year. :)

Make an Origami Light-Up Cube
